What is for sure is that we all have limited time here. No day is promised but we don’t always live like it. What if you were told you had until 8:45 PM and then you were going to die? Every conversation, moment you spent between that time and 8:45 PM would mean so much to you and you would do all the things that you feel you need to do and say. Think about it right now. What would you do? What would you say? But, here’s a question. Why can’t you do that now? Life is not about “doing” things life is about experiencing things. Tell the people you love you love them. Hug, kiss them. Actively listen to them. Be happy. You see, in this moment, death becomes a great teacher.
For most of us living in the Northeast we have been covered and inundated with snow and very cold temperatures. But there is still beauty, things to be grateful for and experience. What about the people who can’t experience this? What about people who can’t see the outline the snow makes on the tree branches. What about those who are unable to make a snowball or a snow angel? What about how beautiful the sky looks? Remember, we are on a rock that is spinning in a vast universe of stars and galaxies. What about the beauty and awe of that? There is something to experience in each moment so live. Focus on living and experiencing. Do not focus on the “do.”
What if we truly experienced life every day? Take the challenge. Live like tomorrow is not promised. Pick up the phone and tell the people you love and miss that you love them. Make time for that walk in the park and take in the beauty of it all. Really make the choice to be happy! Try it…your life will change for the better.
